West Union Bridge

The West Union Covered Bridge, crossing Sugar Creek, is a double-span Burr Arch Truss structure. It was built in 1876 by Joseph J. Daniels. The road bypassed the bridge in 1964.

Bridge Facts:

  • 315 feet in length
  • 334 feet in length including 9' 6" overhang on each end
  • 17 feet wide
  • 14' 6" tall

Location: Beside County Road 525, one mile north of West Union, Parke County, Indiana
